Today the students worked VERY hard to complete their first offical retelling of a Robert Munsch books in their words. They worked in partners first to come up with the highlights from the beginning, middle and end of 'Down the Drain'! It is a very funny book so hopefully it was easier to recall. Then we looked at our ideas as a class to try to sort them better. Finally, they wrote down their own synopsis and they turned out very well! This is part of our School Development Goal of Reading Comprehension and we are on our way to success in this area.
We looked at our overnight experiment which was freezing our liquid Gatorade into a solid and it worked! We noticed we had to melt them a bit to make sure we could take the popsicles out, but then they held their shape just like a solid should! Very exciting! The students also made molecule booklets to show how close the molecules are for a solid, liquid and gas. Finally, we made Water Cycle Worlds! Hopefully the kids will show you them! We love to do lots of science on Friday afternoons since we don't have math on Fridays. Have a great weekend and enjoy the weather. We are looking forward to having Zayd as our Star of the Week on Monday! PS. School photos were send home to day if you ordered them.
