We spend our time at the park playing on the playground, throwing footballs around, making crafts and picnicing. It was a nice end of year celebration as Grade 1 and 2s.

We are having a fun time wrapping up the end of the school year.
We getting ready for summer on Thursday by talking about seasons, and looking ahead to Canada Day and the Calgary Stampede. Today we talked about the cowboys and cowgirls at the Calgary Stampede and all the events that the farm animals are in. A few things to keep in mind to wrap up school: All home reading books need to come back ASAP. Home reading is done for the year BUT please keep reading!! :) Library books or fine need to come in. Spirit Day Tomorrow: Dress like your favourite athlete Aboriginal day is on Thursday, please wear orange to school if you can. Monday is grade 6 graduation so we will celebrating with them in the gym that afternoon. Tuesday is the last day of school and report cards go home that day. Sports Day Dear Families, We are looking for enthusiastic parent volunteers to help run a station during our Sports Day. Our Sports Day will be held outdoors on June 26 from 12:37 pm-2:50 pm. If you have a current police security clearance on file with the school and you are willing to volunteer, please follow the link to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0c4dadaf23a6f58-sports In the event of inclement weather we will move and modify the events to occur inside. I wanted to give the kids an extra day to do their word work with their words since most books were left incomplete from last week.

On this day your child is invited to dress up a character from their favourite book. Please remember not to send your child wearing a mask. We can’t wait to see all the many book characters! On Wednesday, June 20th Rosscarrock school will be having a sports spirit day. On this day your child is invited to dress up as their favourite athlete, or dress in a way that represents their favourite sport (hockey, dancing, football, gymnastics, etc.). We can’t wait to see all the athletes! Spelling next Monday since we have a field trip on Friday again.

We enjoyed our time at the Grain Academy today. The students learned about the history of Alberta, the First Nations, the connection to Rosscarrock School, the types of grain in Alberta, how a grain elevator works and the farming list goes on. We enjoyed also looking at their model train of the Canadian Pacific Railway through Alberta and the mountains. Here are a few pictures of our leaders and the train. Jump Rope for Heart Update:
Our fundraising for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through Jump Rope for Heart will continue until Thursday May 31, and we continue to be amazed by the support and generosity of our Rosscarrock School community. As of today, we are pleased to announce that we have collected over $4500.00 in pledges and donations so far! If you are still returning pledge envelopes, please ensure that they arrive at the school by Thursday. All envelopes and collected donations will be picked up by the Heart and Stroke Foundation on Friday morning. Thank you Rosscarrock School!
