![]() Today we set our butterflies free. It was sad to say bye, but we are happy they can find a real home. We set them out in the lilac bush tree outside the school and then went on a little insect hunt. We found ants, lady buys, spiders, and super small bugs.

We have started to look more at the Prairies in Social to get ready to go to the Grain Academy next week. We began writing creative farm stories today from picture prompts. We looked at how wheat is made and what is on a farm. Spelling Test tomorrow! Our fundraising for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through Jump Rope for Heart will continue until Thursday May 31, and we have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of our Rosscarrock School community. As of today, we are pleased to announce that we have collected over $2300.00 in pledges and donations so far! Thanks for the incredible efforts of our students and their families and friends over the past few weeks.

Today we noticed the chrysalis are hanging on a little tree in our class and look like they are about to come out soon! We can't wait to see our Painted Lady Butterflies hatch.

Please check backpacks for blue field trip forms. We are going on 2 field trips so there are 2 separate forms to fill out and bring back ASAP. We are going to the Grain Academy on Friday, June 1st and also to Tsuu T'ina Cultural Museum on Friday, June 8th.

We are already at May Long! I hope you have been hearing about the lovely new creatures in our class. Last week, we got 6 larvae for Painted Lady Butterflies. We are very excited about their progress in the last 6 days. We have been writing our observations down and the students are getting very good at their descriptive words. Below is a picture of one of the larvae from Day 1. Now, on Day 6, the are caterpillars.
