Today we learned more about our Star of the Week, Clayton! He shared his Pokemon cards with us and we wrote him a book.
We did a book story today on the story 'Who Sunk the Boat?'. The students guess who they thought was the most to blame for sinking the boat based on a few factors. The students then organized the story by looking at characters, events and setting. The grade 2's even rewrote the story on a story map. We are practicing making 10 in my math group- please practice at home if this is you! Have a good night and see you tomorrow!

Today we had our class photos, hope you got the post about that from Friday. Everyone looked awesome :) Today we revisited the water cycle, and practiced saying and applying those big words. Evaporation, Condensation and Precipitation. They are mouthfuls. We are slowly wrapping out our Liquid Unit and then moving onto Boats- starting with the Titanic. Reminder that Friday is a PD day. See you tomorrow! December is here! Welcome to a crazy month at school and home.
I hope everyone has a great season of preparing for Christimas or/and the holidays you celebrate together. Today we looked at some of our goals for reading and learning. The students choose two reading goals they would like to focus on as well as one over arching learning goal. These are important as we think about a new term coming up and report cards. I will share these individual student goals on this term's report. I am excited about the growth the students are eager to get to. This afternoon we explored more of the Mi'kmaq culture by asking questions about how they live, what sports they play, what their houses used to look like and finally what their art looks like. We noticed themes around sea animals and gardens. We even tried our hand at making our own Mi'kmaq Art with oil pastels. We are excited about how they turned out. Looking to next week: Monday is class picture day so dress your best!! PD day Friday- No school! Have a great weekend. |
